Unwanted body hair, especially on the face can be embarrassing for both women and men. However there are simple remedies available to treat the same.




  • Excessive hair growth on face, hands, legs, etc.
  • Dark or very coarse growth
  • Sudden or very long growth




  • Puberty or attaining teenage
  • Hormonal changes like menopause too can cause random hair growth
  • Sometimes it is also in the genes


Home remedies for getting rid of unwanted body hair




  • Take about half a bowl of gram flour. Mix it with some lemon juice and milk to get a thick paste.
  • Apply over all of the areas you want to get rid of hair from. Let it dry.
  • When dry, take some fresh cream or milk or even water. Now scrub off the paste in the direction opposite the hair growth. You can also add some saffron here to make skin tone lighter.


Red Lentils and Fenugreek


  • Red lentils combined with dry fenugreek helps in getting rid of unwanted hair growth.
  • Soak a handful or red lentils in some milk. In the morning puree the same in a mixture.
  • Similarly soak some fenugreek seeds too. Puree them along with lentils.
  • Apply all over the body. When dry, scrape off using warm water or even some milk.


Wheat flour


  • Whole wheat flour is a great alternative to get rid of unwanted body and facial hair.
  • Take about a handful of wheat flour. To this add some milk and saffron (soaked in milk).
  • Turn it into a thick paste. Apply over all of the areas you want to get rid of hair from.
  • Remember to apply the paste in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
  • When dry, take some mustard oil and start scraping. This gets rid of unwanted hair and also makes skin tone lighter.


Bread and milk


  • Soak a bit of bread in little milk. Once the bread is spongy and wet, soak off excess milk.
  • Now use this milk to scrape areas of unwanted hair growth.

  • Take a handful of yellow lentils. Soak it overnight in some water.
  • In the morning crush a potato and churn in the mixture with the lentils. Use boiled potatoes.
  • To this you can also add some honey and lemon juice. Take this thick paste and apply all over the affected areas.
  • When it is dry, you can start scraping it gently and get rid of unwanted hair from the body and the face too.

  • For best results repeat once a week.

Aloe Vera

  • Extract the pulp from the aloe vera and apply to the hair.
  • This should be done on already washed hair.
  • Rinse off after fifteen minutes.

Greek yoghurt

  • Yoghurt is an excellent conditioner for the hair and solves a lot of hair related problems.
  • Add honey and lemon juice to two tablespoons of greek yoghurt and make a paste.
  • Apply this paste to the hair roots and scalp and wash off after half an hour.

  • Combine curry leaves with yoghurt or buttermilk and apply to the hair.
  • Boil curry leaves in coconut oil until the leaves turn black indicating they are burnt and apply this oil on the hair.


  • Applying ghee or clarified butter in the hair twice a week reduces the problem.


  • Onion juice is a highly effective remedy.

  • Mixing equal amounts of almond oil, lemon juice and amla juice and apply on the hair is a good cure.


Bottle gourd juice

  • Take out juice from a bottle gourd and mix it with either sesame oil or olive oil and apply to the hair.

  • Applying this gel is a cure for grey hair and many other ailments.

    •    Squeeze half a lemon to get the juice and add one teaspoon of honey to it. Add this mixture to a cup of hot water and sip it slowly.

    •    Alternatively, you can lick half a lemon sprinkled with little pepper over it.


Apple cider vinegar


    •    Antibacterial properties of apple cider vinegar helps treat sore throat.

    •    Add one teaspoon each of lemon juice and honey and one tablespoon of unfiltered, raw apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water. Drink it 2-3 times daily.

    •    You can also gargle with apple cider vinegar solution; add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water and gargle with it several times a day.




    •    Cinnamon is an excellent remedy for sore throat caused due to common cold.

    •    Mix one teaspoon each of cinnamon powder and black pepper with a glass of warm water. Strain this mixture and gargle with it several times a day.

    •    Alternatively, consume the mixture of one teaspoon of honey and few drops of cinnamon oil twice daily.



    •    Antibacterial and antiseptic properties of garlic helps treat as well as prevent sore throat.

    •    Consume 2-3 raw garlic cloves daily.

    •    Alternatively, add 4-5 drops of garlic oil to 1/4th cup of water and gargle with it 1-2 times daily.

Stomach worms can come in many shapes and sizes. They are more common than you may think. Most of the times, stomach worms can thrive in the human body with no signs of its presence.     •    Consume one tablespoon of shredded coconut with breakfast and after three hours, drink a glass of warm milk mixed with 2 tablespoons of castor oil. Repeat daily once until you get relief.


Pumpkin Seeds

    •    Pumpkin seeds also have anti-parasitic properties and thus they can paralyze stomach worms.

    •    Mix one tablespoon each of roasted, crushed  pumpkin seeds and honey. Eat this mixture first thing in the morning for about a week. 

    •    Alternatively, add 2 tablespoons of crushed pumpkin seeds to 3 cups of boiling water. Let it boil for another 20-30 minutes. Allow it to cool and drink it.




    •    Garlic is helpful for dealing with any kind of stomach worms due to its anti-parasitic nature. In addition, antibacterial, antiseptic, and antifungal properties of garlic help body to get rid of microbes.

    •    Eat 3-4 fresh, raw garlic cloves on an empty stomach daily for about a week.

    •    Alternatively, add 2 crushed garlic cloves to half a cup of milk and boil it. Drink it on an empty stomach, repeat daily for about a week.


Carom Seeds

    •    The thymol content in carom seeds hinders the growth of stomach worms.

    •    Eat a small piece of jaggery on an empty stomach and after 15 minutes, consume ¼ or ½ teaspoon of crushed carom seeds and then quickly drink a glass of water. Repeat daily once for about 2 weeks.

    •    Medical conditions such as ulcers, hernia, pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome, appendicitis, endometriosis, etc., cause stomach ache.


Home Remedies To Cure Stomach Ache




  • Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of ginger promote digestion and help reduce stomach ache. In addition, ginger decreases the production of free radicals and thus helps neutralize stomach acids.
  • Cut a ginger root into slices and add it to a cup of water. Boil it for 3-4 minutes and then simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Strain it and add little honey. Drink this 3-4 times daily to improve digestion and ease stomach ache.



  • Fennel seeds are a great remedy for stomach ache caused due to indigestion. Fennel seeds have anti-microbial, pain reducing, diuretic, and carminative properties.
  • Mix one teaspoon of fennel seed powder to a cup of water and boil it for 7-8 minutes. Allow it to cool and strain it. Add little honey and drink it. 



  • Asefetida, also known as hing, is helpful for treating stomach ache due to its antispasmodic and antiflatulent properties.
  • Add a pinch of asefetida to a glass of water and drink it. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
  • Alternatively, add a pinch of asefetida and salt to a glass of buttermilk and drink it 1-2 times a day.

  • Baking soda and  lemon are very helpful if you've stomach ache due to infection. Baking soda relieves bloating and lemon removes free radicals from the body.
  • Squeeze a fresh lemon and add its juice, one teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4th teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water. Drink this solution quickly. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
