Dark complexion could be something that you are born with i.e. your natural skin colour or the adverse result of extreme sun exposure or other external symptoms. Some natural remedies can help lighten and brighten the skin tone.

  • Dark complexion, as mentioned above may be your natural skin type and hence melanin and genetics are the cause of the same.
  • In other cases, tanning and sunburn over the years leads to change in complexion
  • In some cases, hormonal changes and pigmentation along with patchiness comes that is a cause of temporary dark complexion

  • People with dark complexion could have wheatish skin tones
  • The skin may be dark in some places i.e. face and neck, which is more exposed to the sun
  • In case of patchiness or due to adverse effects of beauty products, patchiness and dark complexion may happen

  • Take a pinch of saffron and soak it in 2-3 spoons of warm milk
  • Now to this add either gram flour or even 2-3 spoons of soaked almond paste
  • Apply all over the face, neck and other darker areas
  • Let it stay for about 20-30 minutes and then gently cleanse using warm water
  • You should see results within 4-5 uses and try to do it everyday 

 

Lime or lemon

Lime or lemon are another natural lightening agent and contain acids that helps in brightening your skin naturally.

 

  • Take a lemon wedge and rub it all over the face, especially works for oily skin. 
  • Leave it for 15-20 minutes and wash off with water
  • Alternatively, you can mix a few drops of lemon juice with 1 spoon honey
  • Mix well and apply all over face and neck. Wash after 30 minutes
  • Lemon can also be added to gram flour and milk to lighten complexion

 

Tomatoes

  • Take a tomato slice and rub it all over the face. Make sure the juice covers the face well
  • You can also crush a tomato and mix it with 1 spoon of sandalwood powder

Jet lag is the disturbance of sleep-wake pattern. This occurs when people rapidly travel  either from west to east or from east to west. Jet lag symptoms become more severe as you cross more time zones.

 

Symptoms

  • Cut a ginger root into slices and add it to a cup of water. Boil it for 3-4 minutes and then simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Strain it and add little honey. Drink this 3-4 times daily to improve digestion and ease stomach ache.

Fennel

 

  • Fennel seeds are a great remedy for stomach ache caused due to indigestion. Fennel seeds have anti-microbial, pain reducing, diuretic, and carminative properties.
  • Mix one teaspoon of fennel seed powder to a cup of water and boil it for 7-8 minutes. Allow it to cool and strain it. Add little honey and drink it.

Asefetida

 

  • Asefetida, also known as hing, is helpful for treating stomach ache due to its antispasmodic and antiflatulent properties.
  • Add a pinch of asefetida to a glass of water and drink it. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
  • Alternatively, add a pinch of asefetida and salt to a glass of buttermilk and drink it 1-2 times a day.

  • Baking soda and  lemon are very helpful if you've stomach ache due to infection. Baking soda relieves bloating and lemon removes free radicals from the body.

Peppermint

  • Add few drops of peppermint oil to a glass of water and gargle with it before going to bed.
  • Also, rub peppermint oil into the lower portions of your nose before going to bed. Repeat daily until you see the desired result.

 

Clarified Butter

 

  • Clarified butter opens up the nasal passage and helps you breath freely.
  • Slightly warm clarified butter and put 2-3 drops into each nostril using a dropper. Repeat daily before going to bed and again soon after waking up in the morning.

 

Turmeric

 

  • Antiseptic and antibiotic properties of turmeric can treat inflammation and reduces heavy snoring. Use turmeric with milk for better result.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder with a glass of warm milk and drink it about 30 minutes before going to bed. Repeat daily until you stop snoring.
