Retina is the part of the eye that is responsible for creating pictures which your eye sees. It captures the image and sends the signal to the brain. A disease of Retina is called retinopathy. When it is caused due to Diabetes it is called Diabetic Retinopathy. This condition arises as a result of high blood sugars which cause damage to the blood vessels of the eye, making them weak and leaky.
