In the current season, the chances of falling sick rise sharply. It’s difficult for our body to keep the pathogens at bay when the immunity levels are down and people around us are sneezing and coughing. Though we cannot shun from being in contact with those who are ill, we can certainly work our way to strengthen our defense mechanism.

Antibiotics and other medicines do help the body recover from the disease but they don’t help improve the body’s immunity. Yoga, perhaps, is one of the most effective and time-tested natural immunity boosters that we can adopt for a healthier life.

Let’s have a look at a few simple yoga poses that can help you put up a strong resistance:

Child Pose (Shishu asana or Shashankasana)

  • Keep your hands on the floor alongside the body, palms facing up. (If this is not comfortable for you, you may place one fist on top of another and rest your forehead on them.)

  • Gently press your chest on the thighs.

  • Hold.

  • Gently come up and sit on the heels, uncurling vertebra by vertebra and relax.

Clapping is associated with all good things in life – promotions, good grades, celebrations, and more. It’s associated with happiness in our life. Our body has 340 known pressure points, 28 of which are in our hand says Dr Rahul Dogra from Kairali Ayurveda group, Delhi. One can identify those pressure points and massage them to enjoy amazing benefits that pressure therapy has to offer. These points have direct connections to different organs of the body, which means we can stimulate these pressure points to alleviate pain in different body organs.

Clapping therapy

One should apply coconut, mustard oil or a mix of both oils on the palms so that it will be absorbed by the body. This therapy is advisable in morning hours to get maximum results.

Clapping for 20 to 30 minutes in the morning keeps you fit and active. As mentioned clapping stimulates blood circulation, this blood circulation removes all obstructions in the veins and arteries, including bad cholesterol suggests Dr Dogra.
