Flu is an infectious respiratory disease caused by a virus called influenza. Flu can be dangerous if left untreated, and at times can lead to death. You can prevent flu by getting a flu shot(vaccination) every year.

  • Flu is caused by influenza virus. There are three types of influenza viruses, including type A, B, and C.
  • Type B influenza viruses are most commonly circulated among humans while type A are found mostly in different animals, including chickens, pigs, and ducks.
  • Influenza viruses spread from a infected person to a healthy person through coughing and sneezing.
  • Sometimes people get infected by touching a contaminated surface and then touching their nose or mouth.


Home Remedies To Cure Fatigue



  • Honey has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It helps to reduce flu symptoms by boosting the immune system.
  • Add a tablespoon of honey to a glass of warm water and drink it several times a day.
  • You can also mix equal amount of honey and onion juice and consume one teaspoon of this mixture thrice a day.




  • Ginger has powerful anti-inflammatory properties and it helps to treat the various symptoms of flu.
  • Drink ginger tea by adding a half teaspoon of crushed ginger to a cup of boiling water.
  • You can also eat small pieces of fresh ginger several times a day.



  • Lemon's antiviral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antifungal properties help to weaken flu viruses.
  • Add some lemon juice and one tablespoon of rum and honey to a cup of boiling water. Drink this mixture twice a day.
  • Put one chopped lemon into a cup of boiling water. Let it boil for another 5-10 mins, inhale this steam 3-4 times a day until you feel better.




  • Garlic can work like a magic for flu as it has got antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial, and antiseptic properties.
  • Add chopped pieces of 2-3 garlic cloves into a cup of hot water. Let it boil for 5-10 mins, strain the water and then drink it. Repeat this 3-4 times a day.
  • You can also consume a teaspoon of garlic juice with water or chew one raw garlic 3-4 times a day.

  • Cut a ginger root into slices and add it to a cup of water. Boil it for 3-4 minutes and then simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Strain it and add little honey. Drink this 3-4 times daily to improve digestion and ease stomach ache.



  • Fennel seeds are a great remedy for stomach ache caused due to indigestion. Fennel seeds have anti-microbial, pain reducing, diuretic, and carminative properties.
  • Mix one teaspoon of fennel seed powder to a cup of water and boil it for 7-8 minutes. Allow it to cool and strain it. Add little honey and drink it. 



  • Asefetida, also known as hing, is helpful for treating stomach ache due to its antispasmodic and antiflatulent properties.
  • Add a pinch of asefetida to a glass of water and drink it. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
  • Alternatively, add a pinch of asefetida and salt to a glass of buttermilk and drink it 1-2 times a day.

  • Baking soda and  lemon are very helpful if you've stomach ache due to infection. Baking soda relieves bloating and lemon removes free radicals from the body.
  • Squeeze a fresh lemon and add its juice, one teaspoon of baking soda and 1/4th teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water. Drink this solution quickly. Repeat 3-4 times a day.

Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is combination of physical, psychological, or emotional disturbances that occur during certain days of the menstrual cycle, usually, a few days before the menses.   • Ginger is an excellent home remedy for PMS. It helps reduce the severity of premenstrual syndrome.
  • Add one teaspoon of chopped ginger to a cup of boiling water. Leave it for 5 minutes, strain and drink 3-4 cups daily at least for a week before your menses. 


Apple Cider Vinegar


  • Apple cider vinegar is an effective home remedy for reducing some of the PMS symptoms such as bloating, cramping, fatigue, headaches, etc.
  • Mix 2 teaspoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar and little organic honey to a glass of water. Drink this mixture twice a day.




  • The omega-3 fatty acids of flax-seeds is very helpful for reducing PMS symptoms such as sore breasts, depression, anxiety, headaches, and more.
  • Eat 1 tablespoon of powdered flax-seeds daily.
  • You can also include flax-seeds in your daily diet.



  • Chasteberry or vitex, help to regulate prolactin, a hormone that is believed to be contributed factor in PMS symptoms.
  • Consume about 400 mg of standard extract of vitex daily.
  • Alternatively, take 100 mg of vitex extract twice daily.
  • Another option is, take 40 drops of vitex tincture daily.


Calcium/Magnesium rich foods


  • Calcium helps balancing hormones and relieves PMS symptoms. Magnesium reduces symptoms like sore breasts, bloating, etc.

Apple Cider Vinegar

  • Add one tablespoon each of apple cider vinegar and honey to a glass of water. Drink this mixture daily to prevent migraine as well as to treat migraine.



  • Ginger is an effective remedy for migraines. Ginger successfully blocks prostaglandins, which are lipid compounds that stimulate muscle contractions, affect hormones, control blood vessel inflammation in the brain.
  • Chew some pieces of ginger regularly.
  • Alternatively, add few slices of ginger to one and half a cup of boiling water. Leave it for 10 minutes and strain the water, add little honey and lemon. Drink this few times a day.

Ice Pack


  • Ice pack is the most simplest and easiest home remedy for getting rid of migraine. It has a numbing effect that reduces pain.
  • Just wrap few ice cubes in a clean cloth and place it on forehead and back of the neck for 10-15 minutes. Repeat at regular intervals.

Cayenne Pepper
