Diarrhea
When people get diarrhea, their stools become very loose or more like water. This occurs very commonly in people and is not considered a serious disease. Typically, people suffer from diarrhea at least once or twice or year. Sometimes it lasts for two to three days.
 
Causes of Diarrhea
·      A virus that hits the gut causes diarrhea. This is sometimes called the stomach or intestinal flu.
·      Alcohol abuse
·      Uncontrolled diabetes
·      Ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease – These are intestinal diseases
·      Foods that throws the digestive system off track
·      Abuse of laxatives
·      Excess medication
·      Thyroid that is overactive
·      Therapies that involve radiation
·      Certain cancers
·      Running
·      Surgeries related to digestive systems

Symptoms of Diarrhea
·      Urine turns darker
·      Reduction in the amount of urine coming out of the body; lower number of wet diapers in children or infants

Home Remedies for Diarrhea
 
Increase the intake of yoghurt

·      Yoghurt contains powerful bacteria, like Bifidobacterium and lactobacillus acidophilus, that can cure diarrhea.
·      It contains probiotics that reduce diarrhea from antibiotics
·      The person with diarrhea should consume at least two bowls of yoghurt to get relief.
 
Fenugreek Seeds
·      Since these seeds contain large amounts of mucilage, they are highly recommended.
·      Individuals with diarrhea should combine one teaspoon of these seeds with one tablespoon of yoghurt and chew them together.
·      Also, half-teaspoon of these fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds can be roasted and combined with curd (two tablespoons) and are stirred well. This mixture should be consumed three times in a day.
 
Apple Cider Vinegar
·      One teaspoon of this should be added to a glass containing water.
·      This solution should be consumed at least one or two times in a day for relief.
 
Chamomile Tea

·      A teaspoon of flowers called chamomile and a teaspoon of peppermint leaves are soaked for 10 minutes in a vessel that contains boiling water.
·      The mixture should be strained and the tea should be taken in for few times during the day.
·      Green tea helps in improving the functionality of the digestive system.
 
Turmeric

·      Half a teaspoon of turmeric powder should be mixed with a glass of warm water.
·      The mixture should be stirred well and should be taken in immediately and quickly because the turmeric powder tends to quickly reach the bottom.
·      This mixture should be taken in at least two or three times in a day.
Alternatively, one teaspoon of turmeric powder can be added to one teaspoon to one tablespoon of yoghurt or applesauce This mixture should be consumed at least two or three times in a day.

  • Soak a clean cloth in cold water, squeeze out the excess water and then sponge your hands, groin, feet, and armpit. This will help you reduce your body temperature.
  • You can also place a damp cloth on your forehead. Change the cloth pieces regularly after few minutes. This method is beneficial to bring down your temperature if you've high fever.

 

Basil

  • Basil acts as an antibiotic and it will help reduce fever quickly.
  • Add 20 basil leaves and a teaspoon of crushed ginger to a cup of water, boil them until the solution gets reduced to half. Then add little honey to this solution and drink it 2-3 times daily for three days.

Ginger

 

  • Ginger is a natural antiviral and antibacterial agent. It helps to expel the heat and reduce the body temperature.
  • Drink ginger tea by adding a half teaspoon of crushed ginger to a cup of boiling water.
  • You can also mix  one teaspoon of ginger juice with one teaspoon of honey and lemon juice. Consume this 3-4 times a day.

 

Turmeric

  • Turmeric has antiviral, antifungal, anti bacterial, and antioxindant properties. This helps your body to fight any infection.
  • Add half a teaspoon of turmeric powder and one-fourth teaspoon of pepper powder to a cup of hot milk. Drink this mixture twice a day.

Gingivitis is a disease of the gums which causes inflammation and swelling due to the bacteria and germs that form and reside in the teeth. It occurs because of bad tooth hygiene and not taking proper care of the gums and teeth. If the disease is not treated on time it can worsen and lead to serious complications. It is actually a medical problem which is not destructive and can be cured by regular flossing and brushing of teeth. It becomes a problem only when ignored for a long time. There are symptoms to look out for which will indicate that you have gingivitis.

Symptoms

  • Most obvious symptom is redness and swelling of gums which look puffy and on touching feel tender and kind of hurt. It is an alarm bell that it is not normal and must be looked into.
  • When you brush your teeth and you see blood coming out of the teeth and gums, it is an indicator that you may have this disease.
  • The gums are set in the jaws and if you see them receding it is a sign that something is wrong

  • When food particles get stuck in the space between the edges of the gum and the place where the gums actually attach to the teeth, and are not cleaned well.
  • Plaque is normal to be formed on the teeth but can be cleaned by regular brushing. If ignored accumulation of plaque is a reason for the disease.

  • Add half teaspoon of salt to lukewarm water and rinse every morning and evening until the puffiness disappears.
  • Make a paste of by mixing half teaspoon of salt with mustard oil and massage it on the gums for around two minutes in a circular motion and then gargle with lukewarm water. For best results, do it two to three times a day.

  • Effective remedy as it reduces decaying of the tooth by neutralizing the acids and at the same time works as an antiseptic hence heals.
  • Make a paste with water and a quarter teaspoon of baking soda and apply it to the gums. Leave it on for two minutes and wash with warm water. Do this thrice a week.

    •    Antibacterial properties of apple cider vinegar helps treat sore throat.

    •    Add one teaspoon each of lemon juice and honey and one tablespoon of unfiltered, raw apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water. Drink it 2-3 times daily.

    •    You can also gargle with apple cider vinegar solution; add one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one teaspoon of salt to a cup of warm water and gargle with it several times a day.

Cinnamon

    •    Cinnamon is an excellent remedy for sore throat caused due to common cold.

    •    Mix one teaspoon each of cinnamon powder and black pepper with a glass of warm water. Strain this mixture and gargle with it several times a day.

    •    Alternatively, consume the mixture of one teaspoon of honey and few drops of cinnamon oil twice daily.

Garlic

 

    •    Antibacterial and antiseptic properties of garlic helps treat as well as prevent sore throat.

    •    Consume 2-3 raw garlic cloves daily.

    •    Alternatively, add 4-5 drops of garlic oil to 1/4th cup of water and gargle with it 1-2 times daily.

    •    Mix one tablespoon each of roasted, crushed  pumpkin seeds and honey. Eat this mixture first thing in the morning for about a week. 

    •    Alternatively, add 2 tablespoons of crushed pumpkin seeds to 3 cups of boiling water. Let it boil for another 20-30 minutes. Allow it to cool and drink it.

    •    Eat 3-4 fresh, raw garlic cloves on an empty stomach daily for about a week.

    •    Alternatively, add 2 crushed garlic cloves to half a cup of milk and boil it. Drink it on an empty stomach, repeat daily for about a week.

Carom Seeds

  • Cut a ginger root into slices and add it to a cup of water. Boil it for 3-4 minutes and then simmer for another 3-4 minutes.
  • Strain it and add little honey. Drink this 3-4 times daily to improve digestion and ease stomach ache.

Fennel

 

  • Fennel seeds are a great remedy for stomach ache caused due to indigestion. Fennel seeds have anti-microbial, pain reducing, diuretic, and carminative properties.
  • Mix one teaspoon of fennel seed powder to a cup of water and boil it for 7-8 minutes. Allow it to cool and strain it. Add little honey and drink it.

Asefetida

 

  • Asefetida, also known as hing, is helpful for treating stomach ache due to its antispasmodic and antiflatulent properties.
  • Add a pinch of asefetida to a glass of water and drink it. Repeat 3-4 times a day.
  • Alternatively, add a pinch of asefetida and salt to a glass of buttermilk and drink it 1-2 times a day.

  • Baking soda and  lemon are very helpful if you've stomach ache due to infection. Baking soda relieves bloating and lemon removes free radicals from the body.
