Forearm yoga poses such as forearm stand or Pincha Mayurasana can be very tricky. It is even more frustrating if you have nailed arm based balance poses such as crow pose yet feel weak as soon as you try and use your forearms.
The reason? Your shoulders. In forearm pose, there is nowhere for your shoulders to hide as they are confined to a small area. If you are lacking strength and flexibility in your shoulders, you are going to struggle to balance. You need to be able to keep your shoulders more engaged and secure on your upper back.
